Oyster Reef
BHCEC has identified an area in the creek that may provide a base for a new oyster reef. Maryland Department of Natural resources and Oyster King have agreed to have divers survey the site and prepare it for planting oysters that are farmed by waterfront owners around the creek. (see Oyster Farming for more details.)
Stormwater Runoff Abatement
BHCEC is working with Community Environmental Defense Services to set up a clinic to train citizens how to assess the condition of detention ponds, rain gardens and other stormwater facilities. Date and place will be announced soon.
